Our aims for your children

Our aim at Bray Pre-school is to have confident, happy children who are caring and sharing and at the same time retain their own high self-esteem and self awareness.

Bray Pre-school enjoys an excellent reputation and has once again received a glowing report from O.F.S.T.E.D's last inspection in March 2004. To view the report, follow the link above, select 'Nursery schools and playgroups', then select 'Private nursery reports', scroll down to 'Windsor & Maidenhead' follow that link and the report is listed alphabetically.

We work closely with the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. We are also affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

Our emphasis is on children learning through play whilst ensuring the Early Learning Goals, as stated by The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), are achieved. The six areas of learning and early learning goals are:

  1. Personal, social and emotional development
  2. Communication, language and literacy
  3. Mathematical development
  4. Knowledge and understanding of the world
  5. Physical development
  6. Creative development

Our prospectus covers all of the principals for early years' education including children with special educational needs and disabilities and those with English as an additional language. Please click here to see photographs of the children at play during some of the daily activities.

A dedicated team
We have a fantastic qualified team who are headed by our Supervisor, Debbie Brett and Assistant Supervisor Lucinda House, both of whom are DPP qualified. All the team clearly love working with the children and are very friendly to everyone.

Our Parent/Carer rota system means that Mums, Dads and carers can have fun assisting the daily activities. It is a great way to see your child or children interact with the others and a good excuse for you to spend some time playing!

Bray Pre-school is a self-funding voluntary provider of early years' education and is run by a Voluntary Management Committee consisting of parents and guardians of children who attend (or have attended) the Pre-school. Every member has a particular role and we all meet regularly to discuss the running of the Pre-school and the all important future fund raising activites. Everyone is welcome and we actively encourage parents to join the committee when vacancies arise.
